A soccer star of Mamelodi Sundowns was donating soccer kits to learners at the Vula Masango Secondary School on Friday morning, after presenting memorabilia at the Free State Legislature in Bloemfontein.

This is part of the Teboho Mokoena Sports and Development Foundation's effort to reach out to schools that the government could not reach out to.

Speaking to OFM News, Mokoena said he feels very happy about this initiative as it is the foundation's responsibility to help schools and children to improve their lives.

Meanwhile, his manager, Nina Moya, told OFM News that Vula Masango Secondary School is the first school in Bloemfontein they are working with and that the foundation's initiatives are going to continue at other schools.

Mokoena, the founder of the Teboho Mokoena Sports and Development Foundation, is a sports philanthropist who started his football career in the dusty streets of Thokoza, in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng. He played for Cameroon Football Club before progressing to play soccer professionally in the PSL and for the South African National Squad at the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup.

VIDEO: "I feel very happy because it's our responsibility as the foundation to assist schools and help children, by making their lives easier. There are many schools in the Free State and I don't think the government has the capability to cover all schools. So we, as the Teboho Mokoena Sports and Development Foundation, help schools that the government cannot reach out to."
