Today marks just more than two weeks since a student has been reported missing at the Qwaqwa campus of the University of the Free State (UFS).
Fellow students reported Kwandisa Xaba, originally from KwaZulu-Natal, missing and indicated she was last seen on 4 June.
A senior student at the same campus, Thandiwe Nhlapho, told OFM News that Xaba - a first year Bachelor of Science student - was reported missing to the university’s management and the Student Representative Council (SRC), who in turn reported the incident to the police.
The family’s spokesperson, who requested to remain anonymous, says it has been a very difficult time for them as a family, and they are praying for her safety.
“It is really difficult, especially not knowing whether she is still alive or not. It is very painful, very difficult. It is unspeakable”.
