Frustrated UFS students march for #missing student─── 13:30 Mon, 20 Jun 2022
Students at the University of the Free State’s Qwaqwa campus marched in support of the search launched for the missing Kwandisa Xaba.
This march on 17 June was from the University of the Free State (UFS) Qwaqwa campus to the Phuthaditjhaba Police Station.
Palesa Mofokeng, who is the primaria or prime at the Chris Hani Residence where Xaba stayed, tells OFM News that the purpose of the march was to hand over a memorandum to the police.
“The memorandum was drafted by the Secretary-General of the SRC. It consisted of reasons why the police must really investigate Kwandisa’s case with urgency, as we do not want history to repeat itself. Apparently this is not the first time that a student has been missing with the police not placing an emphasis on urgency”.
Mofokeng says they are mostly frustrated by the police refusing to give them any information regarding Xaba’s safety.
