Flood disaster, relief and recovery committee heads to North West─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 10:20 Thu, 30 Jun 2022
The Parliament's Ad Hoc Joint Committee on Flood Disaster, Relief, and Recovery Joint Committee will be in the North West on Thursday.
The committee is expected to conduct an oversight visit in Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality to assess the damage caused by floods that occurred in April this year.

Deelpan village in the Ngaka Modiri Molema District had experienced its first flooding in December 2021, followed by others in February and March this year. OFM News reported that the floods were caused by heavy rainfall flowing into the village from other areas, as well as the saturated ground water table.
The committee is expected to meet with North West Premier, Bushy Maape, other premiers from flood-affected areas, ministers of Finance, Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Public Works and Infrastructure, Human Settlements, Water and Sanitation.
