‘Load-shedding won’t affect weekend’s Test rugby’─── HEIDRÈ MALGAS 13:24 Fri, 08 Jul 2022
Load-shedding is not expected to derail the much anticipated Test rugby between the Springboks and Wales at the Toyota Stadium on Saturday.
According to Qondile Khedama, Mangaung Metro Municipality spokesperson, the stadium will not be affected in the event of load-shedding.
“Centlec was instructed by the Executive Mayor to make sure that there is backup. The CEO of Centlec confirmed that both generators are working,” Khedama said.
Executive Mayor Cllr Mxolisi Siyonzana confirmed at a press briefing that they ensured that the match will not be affected by load-shedding.
The President of Free State Rugby, Jerry Segwamba, mentioned that with the first Test last week in Pretoria, there were no wearing of masks and no vaccination certificates were required to enter the stadium. This will also apply to this weekend’s match.
Segwamba added that there are only a few tickets left and they are sure that the tickets will be sold out by this evening. He is encouraging anyone who does not have a ticket yet, to buy one now.
