Free State residents stranded after closure of traffic centre─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 14:44 Fri, 08 Jul 2022
Another institution under the Free State Department of Police, Roads, and Transport has been closed by the Department of Labour.
The OFM News team received information that residents of Odendaalsrus are forced to travel to Welkom to get assistance with their licenses following the closure of the Odendaalsrus Traffic and Testing Centre.
The MEC for Police, Roads, and Transport, William Bulwane, expressed his concerns over the dire state that the traffic testing center finds itself in. This after he was told that the centre was closed due to renovations. Bulwane said that he does not believe that there has been any renovations that have taken place at the centre and he said that he will engage with the management involved to convince him otherwise and also plot the way foward. Bulwane's visit to the centre came shortly after the outcry by the residents of Odendaalsrus when he was initially visiting the now closed Odendaalsrus Police Station.
"In October I'm back here to check, particularly in town. But at the testing station I will come next week because that one falls under me directly," adds Bulwane.
