FS mayor told to apologise─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 09:13 Mon, 18 Jul 2022
The Free State ANC Interim Provincial Committee (IPC) has instructed the Executive Mayor of Moqhaka Local Municipality to apologise to the public.
This after his recent remarks using a racial slur while addressing the community. The ANC IPC coordinator, Paseka Nompondo, condemned the degrading utterances made by the mayor, Motloheloa Mokatsane, to community members who attended a court case alongside him - opposing the bail of gender-based violence (GBV) suspects.
Nompondo stated that the ANC is an organisation committed to the principles of unity, a non-racial, non-sexist, democratic and prosperous society.
He reiterated that the party is against any action that explicitly seeks to degrade other human beings.
Nompondo further added that the IPC has instructed the mayor to issue a public apology and embark on a community service programme which seeks to rehabilitate him.
