Ousted Centlec CFO criticised entity for wasting taxpayers' money─── LUCKY NKUYANE 13:42 Wed, 27 Jul 2022
The ousted Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Bloemfontein-based Mangaung Metro’s power entity, Centlec, took a shot at the utility for allegedly using taxpayers’ money to defend its embattled Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
During a media briefing, the former CFO, Hlonelwa Nkomo, accused the entity of wasting taxpayers’ money by getting involved in a matter that does not even involve it. She says the civil litigation against the Centlec CEO, Malefane Sekoboto, has nothing to do with the entity, however, its money is being used to fight his battles.

She says the interdict against her, filed by Centlec, has no jurisdiction in the case between Sekoboto and her, where she seeks to declare him as a delinquent manager.

On Tuesday, Nkomo was served with court papers which interdicted her from holding a media briefing involving Mangaung's power entity.
In court documents furnished by Centlec, Judge Soma Naidoo has given a court order preventing former Centlec CFO Nkomo to mention details which are yet to be aired in court with regard to an application she has made in June. The order said Nkomo was restrained and interdicted from holding a media briefing. Centlec spokesperson, Lele Mamatu, confirms that indeed Judge Naidoo interdicted Nkomo from holding a briefing. Nkomo, in her affidavit, disposed in court on 29 June 2022, makes damning allegations against Sekoboto and indicates that there are no signed minutes of a board meeting of the entity, showing that Sekoboto was employed as such
