Five children die in horror crash in Free State─── 12:29 Mon, 01 Aug 2022

Five children died in a road accident in the Free State on Sunday evening.
The accident reportedly happened at around 19:24 on the R721 road at Vredefort, claiming five lives of unidentified victims aged between 10 and 18 years of age. Netcare 911 spokesperson, Shawn Herbst, told OFM News that the deceased were parked on the side of the road when a truck hit their vehicle from behind, causing the vehicle to burst into flames.
“The genders have not been established yet as they had all been burned beyond recognition. Their ages were 10, 11, 12, 16, and 18 years. The male driver of the car did not sustain any injuries and the driver of the truck was not found on the scene. We believe he ran away because no one could find him on the scene. It basically sounds like he absconded from the scene.”
This is a developing story.
