Three men arrested after Free State robbery─── 11:59 Fri, 05 Aug 2022
Three men are expected to appear in the Thaba Nchu Magistrate's Court on Friday after being arrested for allegedly robbing a petrol station.
One suspect is still being pursued by the police. The four suspects allegedly robbed the station in the early hours of Thursday morning and stole money and various items.
SAPS spokesperson, Peter Kareli, told OFM News that the suspects attacked the station while it was closed. Only the security guard was there. He further said the suspects tied up the guard using wire before they proceeded with the crime.
“They entered the shop's offices at the garage. While two were busy taking cigarettes and other things from the shop, the other two were trying to open the safe in one of the offices. They opened it using a grinder and took an undisclosed amount of money. The police worked with the Tactical Response Team and managed to arrest three suspects. Some of the money was recovered."
