A police manhunt is under way for two suspects allegedly responsible for killing an elderly female farm owner earlier on Tuesday. The victim was discovered dead on her farm, 15km outside of Olifantshoek on the N14, in the Northern Cape.

Police spokesperson in the Northern Cape, Sergio Kock, said the victim's body was discovered inside her house, while her husband was found in the veld, where he managed to untie himself.

The John Taolo Gaetsewe District’s police are using all resources to hasten the apprehension of the suspects. Meanwhile, investigations continue.

Police are looking for two male suspects who allegedly fled with a cell phone of the victim and firearms from the safe. The John Taolo Gaetsewe Acting District Commander, Brig. Johnny Besnaar, has activated all resources to expedite the apprehension and arrest of the suspects.

With the help of the community and a local security company, the elderly male victim could receive medical treatment. There is no description of the suspects at this stage. It is alleged they fled with the victim’s cell phone as well as firearms that they took from the safe.

The public is cautioned not to attempt to approach the suspects as they are deemed armed and dangerous. Anyone with information can contact Captain Ronnie Oosterhuis on 082 495 4655 or Const Kabelo Nkatlholang on 082 302 0395. Alternatively the public is encouraged to send an anonymous SMS to 32211 or use the MySAPS app.
