New North West ANC leadership welcomed─── 14:45 Tue, 16 Aug 2022
The African National Congress' (ANC) newly elected top five in North West have been welcomed, and expectations are high that the group will bring unity to the party.
Nono Maloyi was chosen as chairperson at the party's ninth provincial congress, which took place at the Rustenburg Civic Center.
Madoda Sambatha, a member of the South African Communist Party (SACP) in the North West, told OFM News that the new leadership should bring the alliance and the party together, along with residents of the province.
He claimed that internal disputes had led to a decline in the party's membership, but that the time has come to stand and work together.
Lucky Mundlovu, a member of the provincial executive committee of the South African National Civic Organization (SANCO), praised Maloyi, adding that he exhibited great leadership.
Louis Diremelo, a former mayor of the Bojanala Platinum District, was chosen over Kenetswe Mosenogi to serve as the new provincial secretary.
Sambatha says the newly elected leadership should not only unite the ANC, but even those who don't agree with them, in order to show leadership.
