The IEC spokesperson in the Free State, Mathabo Rasengani, states that the IEC will engage with women on matters pertaining to women presentation and participation in the electoral democracy. 

She adds that there will also be outreach programmes that are focusing on contact sessions with women from all spheres through different platforms.

Rasengani says the aim of these outreach programmes includes recognising the fundamental role that women play in society, highlighting the contribution of women in various sectors, reflecting on representation and participation of women in government, business and other industries.

She also adds that they will focus on daily challenges women face in society, while identifying barriers and possible strategies for effective female participation in the electoral democratic process.

Rasengani says stakeholders such as SAPS, Seda and the Department of Health will provide some wisdom to women who will be attending the event, under the theme "Women who provide healing and hope".
