Free State government continues to address housing backlog─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 09:02 Thu, 18 Aug 2022
Over eight families from the Mantsopa Local Municipality based in Ladybrand in the Free State will receive new homes on Thursday.
The Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) provincial spokesperson, Sello Dithebe, states that Cogta MEC, Mxolisi Dukwana, joined by Premier Sisi Ntombela, will be handing over the houses to deserving families. Dithebe says this is part of the ongoing programme of addressing the housing backlog issues.

During his budget speech earlier this year, Dukwana stated that his predecessor, MEC Mamiki Koloi, has said that the department is at an advanced stage of formalising informal settlements in areas such as the Mantsopa Local Municipality, amongst others, in the Free State.
