Ousted Centlec CFO in High Court─── LUCKY NKUYANE 09:22 Thu, 18 Aug 2022
The Free State High Court is on Thursday expected to hear arguments from the ousted Centlec Chief Financial Officer (CFO) following her application against the entity’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The former CFO brought an application to the High Court seeking an order against the entity’s CEO, Malefane Sekoboto, for him to be declared a delinquent director.

In her application, Hlonelwa Nkomo alleges that Sekoboto is responsible for a massive spike of unauthorised, irregular, fruitless and wasteful expenditure at the entity, amongst others.
Nkomo, who is also accused of misrepresenting her qualification, adds that a number of supply chain management transgressions led to the alleged irregular expenditure, and irregular tender appointments.
However, Centlec’s spokesperson, Lele Mamutu, told OFM News that Sekoboto will contest the merits of the application made by the ousted Nkomo.

Nkomo, in her affidavit, further alleges “a lack of internal controls; the noncompliance with laws and regulations that govern Centlec, the use of taxpayers’ monies for personal gain; appointments of unqualified persons; and an unprecedented number of unlawful suspensions and dismissals”.
