Three missing female guards from Maokeng, Kroonstad, in the Free State have been found following an extensive search initiated by the police on Wednesday.
The provincial police spokesperson, Peter Kareli, tells OFM News that three female security guards - Mamokgo Julia Tladi (44), Gladys Masabata Motoai (37), and Maletsatsi Mofokeng (39) - who work at the local Seeisoville Stadium, were reported missing earlier on Wednesday at the Maokeng Police Station after mysteriously disappearing during their night duty. He says the victims’ belongings, such as cell phones, and other stuff were found in their guard room. Kareli adds that Maokeng police were called to the scene and a joint search party was launched. They were later found and taken to hospital for medical observation.
“On Wednesday 17 August 2022, at about 21:30, after a joint police and community search, combing through areas in Maokeng and surrounding areas, the search yielded positive results as police located the missing female guards. They were found with their hands tied with shoe laces and totaly disorientated, the three women were rushed to hospital in a bad condition after they were rescued by hunters at Lovedale in the outskirts of Maokeng,” adds Kareli.
