Community members say they were terrified to witness yet another robbery at a branch of the same grocery store in Qwaqwa that has been targeted earlier.

They say the deceased had just done her shopping and was leaving when the robbery occurred and she was shot outside the store. She was allegedly shot in the head and died on the scene.

Police spokesperson, Mmako Mophiring, confirmed the incident but could not provide further details as police are still attending to the scene.

According to community members, a number of people also sustained injuries due to a stampede when people tried to flee the robbery.

At the time of publishing, no arrests had yet been made. An eyewitness, who asked to remain anonymous, says members of the public are still in shock and panic.

The incident has left mixed feelings amongst community members. Others want the store to be permanently moved out of Qwaqwa as they feel it attracts crime.

They say it is the second time that branch gets robbed in the space of four months. Some say the store should tighten their security as they seem to be targeted by criminals.
