A Free State-based family survived a horrific accident on the Maselspoort Road outside Bloemfontein on Saturday.
Trauma Africa spokesperson, Stanley Schimper, explains that emergency services received a call about the accident and they immediately responded to the scene.
He adds that on arrival they discovered that all passengers had suffered minor injuries. All the patients were transported to the Pelonomi hospital for further care after being treated on the scene.
“On arrival it was found that a light motor vehicle had left the road and overturned with three occupants. Three occupants sustained minor injuries and were treated on the scene for injuries. The third was found to be entrapped and jaws of life had to be used by members of Mangaung Fire and Rescue Services to free her from the vehicle. She was also treated on the scene before being transported to the Pelonomi Hospital for further care in a stable condition,” says Schimper.
Schimper applauded the great team work between Response Africa Emergency Management & Incident Response, VR Medical, Life Rosepark Hospital and Mangaung Fire & Rescue Services.
