Father of child killed by truck in Jagersfontein devastated─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 11:50 Fri, 04 Nov 2022

The father of the 13-year-old boy, who was run over by a mine truck in Jagersfontein, says he is devasted by the death of his child.
Speaking to OFM News, Solly Steenkamp says he feels sorry for the child about the manner in which he passed away.
On Thursday 27 October 2022, Solly Olifant was declared dead on the scene after the accident of the Jagersfontein mine truck.
According to police, Olifant, together with four other boys, were jumping on and off a truck until the deceased fell and was hit by an oncoming truck. Meanwhile, it's understood that the Jagersfontein Development Project has sent the family an amount of R60 000 as a form of relief for burial purposes

The Free State Department of Education previously expressed their devastation over the incident. Steenkamp, however, says the family has not been visited by any representative of the government.

The incident follows after a 62-year-old elderly man was found dead in a pool of water between Charlesville and Itumeleng, known as Skoti. This after he went missing on Friday last week and was found on Saturday 22 October 2022.

The funeral of the 13-year-old Olifant will take place tomorrow in Charlesville, Jagersfontein, in the Free State.
