Provincial Secretary Malefane Msimang says the party will challenge the colonial symbols in the Free State Legislature, as the names of some towns and the province remind of South Africa’s painful past.

“These towns are not named after (the) heroes and heroines of our struggle. It remains a huge challenge we must (pursue) as the EFF.”

Meanwhile, the party hopes to reclaim land in the province. Msimang says if they were to govern they won't buy land when people can’t afford it.

“We are going to occupy land like nobody’s business because our people need land,” Msimang says.
