Police search for murderers of FS schoolboy─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 05:41 Fri, 25 Nov 2022
Free State Police are on the lookout for a young gang that allegedly murdered a 20-year-old school pupil from the Kaelang Secondary School in Bloemfontein on Thursday, 24 November 2022.
According to the spokesperson of the Mangaung Police Cluster, Ikobeng Hlubi, the grade 11 pupil went to the store with his friends in JB Mafora and purchased some goods. A group of armed young men suddenly attacked them.
Hlubi alleges that the 20-year-old and his friends tried to run for their lives, but he unfortunately tripped and fell. He says the 20-year-old was stabbed several times and later rushed to hospital in a private vehicle, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Hlubi adds that no one has been arrested. Investigations are continuing.
The Free State Department of Education has condemned the murder and requested community members tp avoid disruptions at school as Grade 12 learners are still writing their final exams. The department also says that they will deploy psychologists to provide the necessary support and counselling at the affected school.
