Police discovered the body of a man with a gunshot wound at an accident scene in North West.
This comes after the police in Boitekong near Rustenburg in the Bojanala district were called to the scene when a case of reckless and negligent driving was reported.
According to police spokesperson, Adele Myburgh, the deceased was discovered inside a bakkie with a gunshot wound to his head.
She says no foul play is suspected at this stage.
Myburgh adds that the investigation is continuing and the deceased will soon be formally identified.
The other two injured passengers from a minibus taxi were taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
"I can confirm that Boitekong police are investigating an inquest as well as reckless and negligent driving cases.
"This came after police were called out to a scene at a robot intersection in Ext 3, Paardekraal, Boitekong on 1 January 2023 at about 00:00.
"Two vehicles were allegedly involved in an accident, a combi and 4x4 [double] cab bakkie," Myburgh adds.
