Northern Cape pledged support to ODI series─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 11:53 Thu, 26 Jan 2023
The Northern Cape Provincial Government has pledged to buy tickets worth R200 000 as part of supporting the One Day International (ODI) Series that will be held in Kimberley at the beginning of February.
The first two One-Day Internationals (ODI) between South Africa and the reigning World Champions England will be held in Bloemfontein on Friday 27 January and on Sunday 29 January, with the 3rd match scheduled to take place in Kimberley on Wednesday 1 February 2023.
While receiving the ODI international series trophy ahead of this scheduled match, Saul announced that the provincial government agreed to buy over 500 tickets at the cost of R200 000. He said the tickets will be distributed between two schools in Kimberley.

“We will distribute half of the tickets to Pescodia High School and the other half to Roodepan High. We will also work with my office and the Department of Sports, Arts, and Culture to find transport, so that we get buses for those children. Most of these types of games are what they watch on television. They should experience it live – to watch an ODI.”
Saul further called on residents of the Northern Cape to support the Proteas by buying tickets and filling up the stadium. He, however, stated that he hopes that people from outside the province won’t have any accommodation issues and pleaded with them to book their accommodation in time.
