Over 1000 houses built in three months by Human Settlements

A total of 1 483 houses have been built in three months across central South African by the National Department of Human Settlements.

This was revealed by the office of the minister of Human Settlements, Lindiwe Sisulu, when a question was posed about the number of houses built by her department since July 2022 by a member of the National Assembly, Mathibe Rebecca Mohlala. The reply showed that from July 2022 to November 2022, 149 houses were built in the Free State, 1 257 were built in the North West, and the Northern Cape had the smallest number of 77 houses.

Part of the question requested the minister of the location the houses were built at. In the Free State, in Fezile Dabi, two houses were built in Kroonstad, another two in Koppies, one in Welkom, 21 in Botshabelo, 13 in Kwakwatsi, 4 in Mangaung Ext 20, 80 in Mangaung Ext 35, 9 in Rheederpark, 2 in Sasolburg, 1 in Bethulie, 6 in Fauresmith, 2 in Maphodi, 1 in Jagersfontein, and 5 in Smithfield. 

In the North West, 33 houses were built in Klerksdorp, 21 in Orkney, 19 in Ventersdorp, 30 in Leeudoringstad, 77 in Wolmaransstad, 7 in Bloemhof, 119 in Vryburg, 65 in Lichtenburg, 20 in Mafikeng, 72 in Mahikeng, 5 in Kraaipan, 171 in Delareyville. 

In the Northern Cape, 10 were built at Barkly West, 18 in Kimberley, 14 in Kuruman, 10 in Mothibistad, 24 in Prieska, and 1 in Colesberg.

The other part requested the minister to list the service providers to whom her department awarded the contracts to build the specified houses. In the Free State, the following were contracted; 3sixty Precast Concrete, Distinctive Choice 712 Cc, G2g Construction, Iceburg, Jsebaka Madikane Trading, Kaykaysim Projects, Lechesa Manaba Consulting And Projects, Malapi Investment, Mulaudzi's Development Projects, Phethisang Merero General Trading, Reananetse Trading, Shirona, Superb Home & Kitchen Manufacturers,  Switch Up Investment, Tshwara Thebe Construction Cc, Tswakeletsa, and Zimvo Trading Cc.

In the Northern Cape, the following were appointed; Gap Infrastructure Corporation (Gic), Modiles Logistics, Neoking Trading Cc, V3 Consulting Engineers, Moke Construction And Projects, Settley Trading (Pty) Ltd, and Biz Afrika985 (Pty)Ltd. 

In the North West, the service providers trusted to build the houses were Agisanang Velakude Jv, Andisa Consulting, Baipati Civil And Electrical Contractor, Ch Enterprises, Dick'n Roll Construction, Drop Dot, Ezekiel Moeti Construction, Leano 87 Solutions, Leretletse-Lesedi, Leungo Construction, M P Construction, Malapane Property Service & Development, Marabe Projects (Pty) Ltd, Masikhule Project Consultants, Mercycon Construction And Projects, Metroprojects Development, Mhlava Civil Construction, Nxm Construction, Pace Setters Construction & Supply Of Goods, Rauco Trading Enterprise Cc, Renanao Construction (Pty) Ltd, Renekhumo Developers (Pty)Ltd, Ryxor, Sdn Civils (Pty) Ltd, Sechoaro Supply And Delivery Cc, Sekoko Sam Matubetube T/A Vision Construction, Sun Success Construction And Projects Cc, Tigane Developers And Property Administrators Cc, and World Focus 2346.

The amount of money that was spent on building the houses was not included in the answer.
