The Hawks in the Free State are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder after a police officer was gunned down in Phase 6 in the Bloemspruit area.
Provincial Hawks spokesperson, Christopher Singo, says John Lechachela Dikgoele (41) was shot dead outside his home early this morning.
He was accompanied by a female passenger who also sustained gunshot wounds.
