Power restored to areas of Mangaung: Centlec─── LUCKY NKUYANE 09:31 Sun, 19 Feb 2023
The Mangaung Metro municipality's power supplier Centlec says power supply has been restored to all previously affected areas in Bloemfontein, following a power outage at the Park West distribution centre.
According to Centlec spokesperson, Lele Mamatu, their team managed to restore power to all areas at 10:00 on Saturday.
The power outage affected most part of Bloemfontein, including Langenhoven Park, part of Universitas, Brandkop, Pellissier, parts of Fichardt Park, and Rosepark Hospital, amongst others.
Some residents complained that they had been without power for at least two to three days.
Meanwhile, last night Centlec announced another power outage affecting areas such as Pellissier. The power outage, according to Centlec, lasted for about two hours.
On Saturday night the ailing national power utility Eskom implemented stage 6 loadshedding.
Eskom in its Twitter feed said, "In order to create space to replenish the emergency generation reserves, Eskom will implement Stage 6 load-shedding from 20:00 tonight until 05:00 tomorrow (Sunday) morning."
Eskom further indicated that stage 4 load-shedding will thereafter be implemented until further notice, with the possibility that Stage 6 load-shedding might again be implemented during Sunday night.
