JB Marks to shed light on resident relocation plans─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 10:12 Sun, 02 Apr 2023

The JB Marks Municipality in North West will meet with residents of Mooibank in Potchefstroom on Sunday to update them on the progress made to finally relocate them to Klipdrift.
According to a statement issued by the municipality, the meeting follows in the wake of a court order to certain government departments. A multi-party committee was established to ensure the process of relocating people from Mooibank to an identified piece of land in Klipdrift is implemented in an orderly and dignified manner.
The committee comprises of the JB Marks Executive Mayor, Gaba Thithiba Ka Qhele, Councillors from various political parties and relevant council officials. It is led by the Speaker of the municipality, Rosy Moithoesi

The Freedom Front Plus's Marlene Steyn-Du Toit meanwhile says the municipality did not consult with the occupiers and the legal occupants of the property.
She further said the area land occupiers will be relocated to has no municipal services. Du Toit also demanded the mayor and the municipality outline concrete steps and a timeline regarding the relocation of residents.
