Bloemfontein pastor accused of reckless driving─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 14:12 Thu, 13 Apr 2023

A Bloemfontein pastor (51) of a well-established church is allegedly in hot water after his car smashed through the fences of two houses and he left the scene of the accident.
According to a Free State police spokesperson, Thabo Covane, he lost control of his BMW X5 SUV and hit a fence on Tuesday 11 April 2023 at about 21:00, in Ceylon Street in Uitsig.
It's alleged that pastor Gabriel Mohanoe of the Christian Revival Church attempted to run away shortly after the incident but was caught down the street by members of AfriForum’s Uitsig neighbourhood watch. The police eventually arrested him.
Covane says a case of reckless and negligent driving has been opened at the Park Road Police Station, with an added charge of malicious damage to property.
He added that the police are investigating the circumstances around the incident.
