Residents informed of fair process of R507 project─── 14:10 Fri, 14 Apr 2023

Residents of Letsopa near Ottosdal in the North West were yesterday evening happy to be informed of the decision to begin a fair hiring process for the R507 road project.
This is after an elected representative of disgruntled community members met with other stakeholders involved in the project, including the Department of Public Works.
There have been protests in the area since last Tuesday, with traffic blocked on the R507 leading to Delareyville, one resident said this has proven that the time for nepotism is over, and fair opportunity for all should be practised.
Speaking to residents, Letlhogonolo Motji of Forum 4 Service Delivery said hiring will be done per ward, with each ward expected to have at least fifteen people hired.
Motji said community members would be called for a formal introduction of the contractor on Friday at 13:00.
Meanwhile, OFM News has just been alerted that another group of residents, including those affected by the decision in yesterday's meeting, are said to be blocking the road.
