Spokesperson Sello Dithebe said the service will take place at Norman Doubell Hall. She will be laid to rest at the Bainsvlei Cemetery on Sunday.

Marshoff (66) served as premier between 2004 and 2009. She passed away on Saturday (16/4). Before she was appointed as premier, Marshoff led the Department of Social Development.

Dithebe said before becoming an MEC and eventually premier, Beatrice Marshoff was a scrub nurse and returned to nursing at the end of her tenure, as this was another passion of hers.

One of the speakers at Marshoff’s earlier memorial service in Heidedal, Sipho Mfecane, described her as a humble and selfless leader.

“I want us to remember her as a dedicated leader, as caring, loving, honest and as faithful. That's who BT was. Ek is wat ek is deur Beatrice,” he said.

Tina Mnumzana said Marshoff did not compromise when it came to work and she held people accountable as a leader. She further said that Marshoff was principled and responsible person.

“One thing I have learned from her is to be honest to yourself. Not to compromise your integrity. One thing she said to me was that even if you don’t have bread on your table, you must never compromise yourself,” says Mnumzana.

Ousted Premier Sisi Ntombela said Marshoff's death cuts deep and couldn't have come at a worse time - when the province needs all to rally behind the leadership in shaping the future of the Free State.
