Two injured in failed hijacking in Bloemfontein─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 15:46 Fri, 12 May 2023

Two people were injured following a failed truck hijacking in Bloemfontein on Friday morning.
Mangaung DA Councillor, Dave McKay, says the suspects tried to hijack a truck on the bridge over the N1 at the BP Kempston filling station, between 05:00 and 06:00. The truck driver activated his vehicle’s tracker and the security company responded immediately.
When the security guards arrived at the scene, two people were injured during a shootout between the guards and the alleged hijackers.
McKay says the area has become a hotspot for criminal activities. He called on the Mangaung Metro Municipality to fix the street lights in the area.
