JB Marks municipality cautions residents of planned power cuts | News Article

JB Marks municipality in North West has warned residents of Tlokwe region and Ventersdorp to brace themselves for planned power cuts.

The planned power cut supply is expected to occur on Thursday 22 June 2023 from 8:00 until 16:00.

Municipal spokesperson Jeanette Tshite said the electricity supply interruption is mainly due to an 11KV Minisubstation installed in Potchefstroom tomorrow. Areas such as Grimbeekpark, Arendpark, Lelie Street, Jasmyn Street, Watsonia Street, Lupine Street, Herman Street, Elandsheuwel Plots on Wilgeboom, Rooibok Street, Koepelsig Extension, and Papawer Street will have no electricity during the installation process.

“Whilst residents are considering the load-shedding schedule, they are once more reminded that electrical installations must at all times be treated as live, as the supply may be restored before the set time,” she added.

Meanwhile, the municipality has issued another warning to residents of the Ventersdorp region about planned power cuts today from 10h00 until 13h00. Tshite stated that the Electrical Team in Ventersdorp will be re-connecting Toevlug, Silos, Half of Town, Trimpark and Senwes. She requested residents to switch off all electricity appliances as the power might be back earlier than anticipated. The municipality has since apologised to all those affected by the interruption.
