According to the provincial police spokesperson, Mahlomola Kareli, the body of the victim (66) was discovered on Tuesday (4/7) with deep wounds to the head after police were called to attend a scene in Wilgenhof at about 16:00. 

Police discovered that there had been forced entry as burglar bars and a sliding door were left open and damaged. Kareli said the victim was found lying in a pool of blood and was declared dead by emergency services.

Police are searching for suspects and have opened a case of murder. The public has been requested to assist police to apprehend the suspects and anyone with information is requested to contact sergeant Moakhi Ramokhothoane of Kroonstad Detectives on 084-712-0651 or crime stop on 08600-10-111.
