Jeanette Tshite, municipal spokesperson, said the licence testing centre, medical centre, as well as offices of the registration authority had to remain closed for the entire day. Normal services are only expected to resume on Friday (25/8), depending on the availability of water.

Tshite also informed residents of Meiderpark and Suid Dorp to brace themselves for another day without water. The water shortage is due to repair work the municipality had to do on the supply line in Grey Street.

It’s understood that more challenges were encountered, resulting in repairs not being completed within the anticipated time. Affected areas include those from Ikageng Road to the Potchefstroom Hospital. Tshite apologised for the inconvenience caused by water cuts.
