Four stock theft suspects are expected to appear in court soon, following their arrest on Friday night.

Upington police received and followed up on information about a white Volkswagen bakkie, allegedly transporting stolen livestock on the Rietfontein road.

The owner of the stolen livestock was present to identify his property. Carcasses, a sheep, and other items to the value of R 8000 were confiscated.

The vehicle that was supposedly used in the commission of the crime was also impounded.

ZF Mgcawu regional police spokesperson Omphile Masegela says further investigation led to two more arrests of farm workers.

They will be charged with stock theft and being in possession of suspected stolen goods.

The Station Commander of Upington Brigadier Peet Coetzee commended the swift response by the members of the Rural Safety Unit.
