The Free State summer campaign is being launched on Thursday at the A Forever Resort, at the Gariep Dam. The launch is done for the anticipated festive season to promote the province as a hotspot for the season.

“We aim to redefine Free State as a pit stop for tourists travelling across the major national roads of the province to various destinations. We are saying to South Africans that the Free State is more than just a drive-through,” said the Free State Gambling, Liquor, and Tourism Authority CEO, Kenny Dichabe.

The launch will be done over three days, and a huge influx of people is expected in the town. It also offers a chance for all participating trades to highlight their local tourism services.

“The town will see higher traffic, and longer queues at stores as this will be a sign of economic injection. The Free State Gambling, Liquor, and Tourism Authority already made the public aware of the unusual occurrence that this launch will bring to the people of the Gariep Dam,” said Dichabe.

Adrenaline addicts are promised to be kept busy, enthralled, and amused by the province's abundance of action and adventure activities on land, in the water, and in the air.
