North West police are searching for suspects who escaped while awaiting trial in Mogwase.
Ten men accused of a range of crimes escaped their police holding cell through the roof after cutting the mesh on Wednesday (22/11). According to provincial police spokesperson Sabata Mokgwaboni, the escapees are Johannes Mogari Nowata, Katlego Nkitle, Omphemetse Moeng, Joseph Molefe, Tebogo Michael Langeni, Obvious Mlambo, Lebogang Mokotleng, Adonis Mpofu, Eric Mkhonazi and Tshiamo Mogale.
They are aged between 18 and 56 and are facing charges ranging from house robbery, possession of suspected stolen goods, robbery with aggravating circumstances, murder, attempted rape and burglary.
Mokgwabone said internal investigations regarding the incident have also been instituted.
Members of the community have been encouraged not to attempt to re-arrest the suspects as they are considered dangerous, but to rather contact the investigating officer, Captain Malope Mabula, on 082 569 4887.
