Residents of Makwane in the Maluti-a-Phofung Local Municipality are living without water. Spokesperson for Maluti-a-Phofung Water, Teboho Kwakwa, said, there has been a power outage at the Makwane Water Treatment Plant after cable theft.
“This matter has caused the biggest problem as the plant supplies water to the greater Makwane," said Kwakwa.
Vandalising the municipal infrastructure is a serious criminal offence that may lead one to rot in jail. “We take vandalism of the municipal infrastructure very seriously. We therefore request the residents to report such incidents to the nearest police station.”
