“Centlec CEO Malefane Sekoboto would like to extend his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, on behalf of Centlec staff members, executive management and the board of directors.”

Two Centlec workers died in a car accident along the R702 road linking Bloemfontein and Wepener on Saturday (17/2).

According to Lele Mamatu, spokesperson for the Mangaung power utility, the two employees were on their way to address a community complaint in Wepener when the incident occurred. Centlec health and safety officers responded to the scene after they were informed of the accident.

Mamatu added that Centlec’ss wellness office is currently working with the victims’ families to facilitate arrangements for memorial services and the burial of the deceased. More details are expected to be shared in the coming days. Mamatu emphasized that Centlec is providing support and counseling to both the bereaved families and staff affected by this tragedy.
