Free State family devastated after son went missing after initiation─── 09:37 Mon, 19 Feb 2024

The family of Katleho Motsoeneng in Qwaqwa, in the Free State, is devastated as he was last seen in December 2023.
Katleho Motsoeneng (22) was last seen when he and his friends went off to the initiation school. Unfortunately, he never came back but all his friends came back safely.
It is understood that his friends never reported him being missing to his parents when they returned from the initiation school. Instead, Katleho's parents were the ones who asked about his whereabouts.
“All of them said they don't know where my grandson is. I think they are trying to hide what might have happened,” Katleho's granny, Makgauta Motsoeneng, told OFM News.
She said their house is cold. The atmosphere is tense in the family.
She added that the search continues with the hope that one day he will be found. “So far, we have gone to different mountains and hospitals without any luck in finding him,” she said.
Mutlanyana Sekete, the spokesperson of the civic movement Maluti-a-Phofung 16 (MAP 16), said the family is in their prayers. “As a community organisation, we support everyone in the community regardless of the political parties they support,” said Sekete.
