“The time for talks is over.”
North West Province acting premier Nono Maloyi said during the State of the Province Address (SOPA) in the legislature in Mmabatho unemployment continues to be a concern.

He indicated work is done to ensure challenges regarding the Deelpan floods have been addressed and 104 homes will be built. “The time for talks is over. It’s time to change the lives of our people for the better.”
Maloyi apologised for the delay in the construction of the Nelson Mandela Drive project in Mahikeng, adding he’d be accompanied by Public Works and Roads MEC Saliva Molapisi to find a decisive intervention.
In the past financial year, fires occurred at government buildings, including the Pilanesberg airport. Maloyi urged residents to report vandalism of state infrastructure.

The province has earned R6,9 billion from tourism during the past year, leading to job creation.
Maloyi wished Premier Bushy Maape the best and asked people to be considerate regarding other’s health issues.
He said the province was saddened by the nine deaths reported at illegal initiation schools, and urged law enforcement to take action against such.
