“The conference will serve as a platform to promote the province as a preferred investment destination.”

The second Free State investment conference will be hosted on Tuesday (27/2) at the Centenary Complex at the UFS in Bloemfontein. The purpose of this conference is to showcase the province as an investment destination of choice.

The goal of the Free State Provincial Government is to interact with important roleplayers and investors to pinpoint potential growth sectors and provide a framework to attract investment to the province.

“The conference is part of the efforts to grow the Free State economy and create jobs by harnessing investments and it will also highlight strategic investment opportunities and investment incentives that the province can offer,” said Free State Destea Head of the Department, Dr Mbulelo Nokwequ.

“We will be showcasing opportunities that are available for investors in the Free State such as renewable energy, mining, gas extraction, tourism, manufacturing, and agriculture.“

The investment conference will be attended by delegates from all walks of life, potential investors, members of the Diplomatic Corps from the Russian Federation, the United States of America, the Republic of Angola, the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of Sri Lanka, and People’s Republic of China, South Korea, as well as India.

The Premier of the Free State, Mxolisi Dukwana held a business-networking session with investors and potential funders at the Bloemfontein Golf Club on Monday (26/2) and later in the evening the Premier and the Deputy Minister of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO), Alwin Botes, will engage with international stakeholders, at the URTH Conference Centre.
