Under the command of brigadier Irene Kopeledi, provincial head of Pro-active Policing, Operation Shanela High Visibility duties unfolded across Postmasburg. Accompanied by acting district commissioner brigadier Monica Sebili and station commissioner brigadier Peet Coetzee, officers carried out measures in known hotspot areas such as Postdene, Newtown Maranteng, Boichoko, Greenfield, and the CBD. Six drug houses were raided, and eight liquor outlets were inspected for compliance, with one receiving a non-compliance notice. Officers also conducted patrols and searched 157 people.
In another development, police stopped a vehicle on the N14 near Olifantshoek that was carrying suspected stolen livestock from Upington. They found 79 sheep worth R240 000 and arrested four suspects.
