Northern Cape police are requesting community members to keep an eye out for two girls who went missing and are suspected to be in Kimberley.

The two girls, Alicia Jacobs (16) and Bernice Bosch (15), were last seen at a Bloemfontein school on 2 August before being reported missing at around 16:30 at the Park Road Police Station.

“Alicia Jacobs was last seen wearing black trousers, a light blue golf shirt and a navy blue school track top. Bernice Bosch was last seen wearing a black jacket, black tracksuit pants and white Puma sneakers,” said Capt. Loraine Earle.

‘Suspected to be in Kimberley’

Constable Nwabisa Stokwe of the Park Road Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offences Unit is in charge of the investigations into the disappearance of the two girls, who are believed to be in the Kimberley area.

Anyone who might have information on the whereabouts of either of the girls is urged to contact Constable Stokwe on 082 445 6081, the Crime Line on 08600 10111 or to drop an anonymous tip on the MySaps App.

It is also important to note that there is no waiting period to report missing loved ones. Community members are encouraged to report it immediately at the nearest police station.

‘There is no waiting period to report a missing loved one’

• Provide a recent photograph of the missing person, if possible.

• Provide a full description of the missing person’s last whereabouts, clothes they wore, as well as any information that might assist the investigating officer.

• Complete and sign a SAPS 55(A) form. This form protects the police from banter and indemnifies the police to distribute the photograph and information of the missing person.

• Get the investigating officer’s contact details, and send any additional information that may become available.

 • If a missing person is found or returns voluntarily, notify the investigating officer immediately. A SAPS 92 form must be completed to inform the Bureau of Missing Persons that the missing person’s report may be removed from the circulation system.
