Busamed Bram Fischer Private Hospital in Bloemfontein has once again stepped up its commitment to world-class emergency care.
Starting this July, the hospital has expanded its Emergency Centre capabilities through a dynamic partnership with Promed24, bringing even more expertise and rapid response to the people of Bloemfontein and the broader Free State region.
Dr Ilse Fourie, Emergency Doctor from Promed24, and Sr Ariana Lourens, Nursing Manager at Busamed Bram Fischer Private Hospital, join Yolanda Maartens to give insight into this exciting new partnership.
This partnership, led by emergency care doctors, Dr Ilse Fourie, Dr Ester Gunter, and Dr Solly Khiba, complements the hospital’s existing collaboration with VR Med ambulance services, which already introduced a dedicated Emergency Response Vehicle. Together, these initiatives are transforming the speed, efficiency, and quality of emergency care available in the region.
“When it comes to emergencies, every second counts, and expert care can make all the difference, says Hospital Manager Amanda van Rensburg. “We’re not just responding to emergencies, we’re empowering communities with quality, accessible, compassionate healthcare honouring our commit ent to delivering premium care with a personal touch.”
The hospital’s 24-hour Emergency Centre is fully staffed with trauma-trained doctors and nurses and supported by two of Bloemfontein’s leading trauma surgeons, Prof A. Loubser and Dr E. Arko Cobbah. It also features a helicopter landing pad for lifesaving transfers, ensuring the hospital can respond swiftly to critical cases from across the province.
What sets the enhanced service apart is how seamlessly Promed24’s emergency doctors and paramedics integrate with the hospital’s in-house medical teams. Expert medical care now begins from the moment a patient is reached—whether at home, on the road, or in the Emergency Centre itself.
Inside the facility, patients benefit from cutting-edge trauma care equipment and diagnostic technology. But beyond the advanced treatment, visitors can expect the warmth and dignity that Busamed Bram Fischer is known for, courteous staff, private facilities, and a commitment to treating every patient with compassion.
The initiative goes beyond just in-hospital care. With outreach, health education, and prevention built into the model, the hospital and Promed24 aim to support the community before emergencies even happen, meeting people where they are and empowering them to live healthier more fulfilling lives.
In an emergency, here’s what you need to know:
- The Emergency Centre is open 24/7. Call 051?412?4219 for immediate help.
- The hospital’s specialist team includes trauma doctors, paediatricians, physicians, neurosurgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, and more.
- The facility includes 110 acute care beds, four operating theatres, a fully equipped ICU, and on-site MRI and CT scanners.
From sudden illness and injury to life-threatening trauma, Busamed Bram Fischer Private Hospital now offers a new standard of emergency care in the Free State, delivered with speed, precision, and a personal touch.
