Missing Kimberley Bolt driver found and arrested─── ZENANDE MPAME 14:53 Fri, 25 Jul 2025

The case of the missing Kimberley Bolt driver will appear in the Douglas Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday (29/7) with two others for a bail application for contravening the Immigration Act.
The suspects, Simbarashe Chimbowa (31), Elias Mzonjani (47), and Believe Chikate (25), appeared in the same court on Friday (25/7). They were arrested on Monday (21/7) after they were found in a blue Ford Focus approximately 5km outside Douglas on the Kimberley Road.
Chimbowa was reported missing by his mother on Monday after he was last seen at his house in Kagisho. It was reported that he is originally from Zimbabwe and speaks English and Shona.
“Kimberley police can confirm that Simbarashe Chimbowa, a Bolt driver who was reported missing, has been found and arrested,” said Northern Cape police spokesperson Sergio Kock.
“The arrest was effected by the Visible Policing Unit of Douglas on Monday, and the vehicle in which they were travelling was seized by the police. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.”

Meanwhile, a Potchefstroom sergeant will appear in the Potchefstroom Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 6 October, for defeating the ends of justice. The charge emanates from when Sgt. Myka Shale (46) allegedly handed a firearm to her that was picked up on the murder scene of Wilfred Casper (38).
The murder was reported on Saturday, 12 July in Marikana at Promosa, close to Potchefstroom. After receiving the firearm, it was never handed in or declared by her to the police.
“Casper was found with multiple stab wounds and other injuries in Marikana,” said North West police spokesperson Adéle Myburgh. Within five day’s, Ikageng detectives arrested eight suspects between the ages of 27 and 35 for his murder.”
“It is alleged that they are all members of the SVK-gang.” The eight appeared in court on Friday (25/7) for a bail application, and their co-accused Shale was granted a R5,000 bail.
