North West police urge woman in viral video to come forward─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 11:14 Mon, 04 Aug 2025

North West police are urging a woman involved in a widely circulated video showing a heated exchange with a Stilfontein police officer to come forward and assist with the investigation.
A video has surfaced on social media showing a police officer, believed to be on duty, engaged in a verbal altercation with a woman at the Stilfontein police station.
The officer allegedly refused to assist the woman in opening a case and instead used vulgar language during the encounter.
North West police have called for accountability and cooperation from all parties involved. Acting provincial commissioner, Major General Patrick Asaneng, urged the woman to come forward so that a formal investigation could be conducted to establish what led to the altercation, said police spokesperson Sabata Mokgwabone.

The exchange between the woman and a police officer is unacceptable as it is expected of police officers and members of the public to work together and respect one another, he added.
If police-community relations are to be restored, an investigation must be conducted to determine the circumstances of the incident and to prevent similar altercations in the future, he said.
