The Premier of the Free State, MaQueen Letshoa-Mathae, is calling on women from across the province to unite for change during the Provincial Women’s Month event on Saturday, 9 August 2025, at Arthur Pitso Stadium in Ladybrand, from 09:00 to 14:00.

Held under the national theme “Building Resilient Economies for All”, the event will address critical issues affecting women, including digital finance and closing the credit gap for women, supporting women-led enterprises, investing in care infrastructure, and preventing gender-based violence and femicide through education and engagement.

These dialogues, aligned with global G20 priorities on women’s empowerment, aim to meet real community needs while driving year-round progress in advancing women’s rights and opportunities.

The day will also include province-wide interfaith prayer services and provide a platform for residents to voice concerns and connect directly with government support.

Premier Letshoa-Mathae says the 71st National Women’s Day commemoration is not only a celebration, but also a renewed call to action:

“We must combine our voices, our skills, and our determination to create safer communities, stronger economies, and a brighter future for all women in the Free State.”

Women, community leaders, and youth advocates are encouraged to attend and help shape solutions that will drive sustainable change in the province.
