A digital content creator colloquium is set to take place at Pacofs from next Wednesday (3/9) till Friday. The event aims to provide a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration within the creative and communication sector.

The colloquium was initiated to address the growing importance of the digital space, said project manager Tshiamo Tsikoe.

The event seeks to bring together creators, government representatives and corporate entities to discuss the integration of digital content creation into the broader economy.

“We just wanted to create a safe space for creators to come together, for the government space to come together, for corporates to come together to say, okay, we see you guys, we see your efforts. How can we integrate you into our communications? How can we use you and create business through these young people?”

The Free State provincial government is one of the key partners in the collaboration that highlights a shared interest in supporting the youth and the digital economy.

The speaker lineup for the colloquium includes a diverse range of professionals. International actor Tony Kgoroge and Poobie Pillay, a podcaster and former programme manager for Five FM, are among the featured speakers. The programme also incorporates Bloemfontein’s local talent.

To facilitate practical learning and networking, the agency has been conducting weekly mini colloquiums. These smaller sessions focus on specific topics, ranging from finance and business to artistry and poetry, and are designed to encourage collaboration among participants.

Over 600 registered

The main event will include a dedicated CEO programme on the second evening, offering attendees the opportunity to interact directly with industry leaders.

With over 600 people registered, the event is expected to attract a significant number of professionals and aspiring creators.

“It is possible, no matter where you are and no matter what you have, and what equipment you have, you can be the person who makes social media work for them,” said Tsikoe
