Mangaung mayor reshuffles mayoral committee─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 10:56 Fri, 24 Oct 2025
The Mangaung mayor has reshuffled his mayoral committee as part of a broader effort “to strengthen governance and improve service delivery” across the metro.
The reshuffle, announced on Friday (24/10), sees several councillors moved to new portfolios. Deputy mayor Lulama Titi-Odili has been appointed as the new MMC for finance, replacing Logan Kruger.
Kruger will now lead the public safety and transport portfolio, taking over from Sibongile Tsoleli, who has been reassigned to head corporate services.
Former corporate services MMC Manthuse Letawana has been redeployed to the economic development portfolio, replacing Vuyelwa Jonas. Jonas will take charge of solid waste and fleet management, while Theodorah Mosala, previously in that role, has been appointed as MMC for IDP and performance, a position formerly held by Titi-Odili.

Several MMCs have retained their current positions. Vusi Sogaqa continues as MMC for infrastructure services, while Ntombi Nhlapho remains in charge of human settlements.
Alfred Qai retains the community services portfolio, and Pani Twala continues as MMC for agriculture and rural development. No new faces were added to or removed from the list of MMCs.
Nthatisi’s reshuffle comes as the metro faces growing pressure to improve service delivery and financial stability.
Nthatisi, who was elected as mayor in 2023 with the support of the ANC and its coalition partners, including the African Transformation Movement, took office following the resignation of mayor Mxolisi Siyonzana amid internal party pressure.
He was expected to hold a media briefing at the Bram Fisher building on Friday afternoon, where he would formally announce changes to his mayoral committee and address governance issues.
